Recount with a twist

Two Truths and One Lie
WALT: create a recount using descriptive language.

Instructions:
You are going to create a recount about the immersion assembly that we had as a school today. You will need to pick two of your favourite parts of the assembly and recount those in a paragraph. Then you will need to make up something that didn’t actually happen or change an event that happened at assembly. You can then put them in any order in your recount. Use the template below to help you.

  • Immersion Assembly: Move ya’ body
  • What is two truths and a lie?

On monday 23rd July we had an Immersion Assembly where we found out our topic is called Move ya’ body. I am writing a recount with a twist. The twist is that there will be two truths and one lie in my paragraph.
Paragraph 1: Truth or Lie?
  • Recount in the order that it happened.
  • Who does it involve?
  • What was it?
Yesterday my family and my cousin came with me to the movies in sylvia park.

On saturday my whole family and I went to a restaurant to eat.

Last week me, my sister and my parents went to tauranga to go see my nana at the cemetery.
Paragraph 2: Truth or Lie?
  • Recount in the order that it happened.
  • Who does it involve?
  • What was it?
Last week friday my sister, my mum and I went clothes shopping to get us some more clothes.

Three days ago my dad bought him a macbook pro for his work.

Last week thursday my family and I went to the beach for some family time.
Paragraph 3: Truth or Lie?
  • Recount in the order that it happened.
  • Who does it involve?
  • What was it?
Last week tuesday my cousins and I walk to the shop to buy us some lollies.

On the last day of school we went to drop off my cousin to my aunty’s house.

Yesterday me and my big sister went to buy some KFC.

Conclusion:
  • Summing up your ideas
  • Add in your personal feelings here.
When I was writing my two truths and one lie I felt a little bit happy and guilty. Why was I feeling happy and guilty because I didn’t know what to do and what I was meant to do.

Make sure to proofread your work once you have finished.
Does it make sense?

Are there any spelling mistakes?
